The Human Resources DevelopmentCentre, University of Lagos in
collaboration with the Nigerian Institute of Shipping (NIS) announces
Professional Advanced Diploma in Shipping, Ports’ Administration and
Management programme for 2012/2013 session.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for
admission into the part-time Professional Advanced Diploma course in
SHIPPING, PORTS’ ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT Programmes.

Who can apply?
For all practitioners in the Maritime Industry including Managers,
Supervisors, Freight/Forwarding Agents, Ship Agent/Brokers,
Military,Customs & Excise Personnel and all others.
For new entrants who desire to make a career in the Maritime Industry.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENT:
Holders of WASC/SSCE/GCE or equivalent qualification with at lease five (5) O’ level Credits or
Holders of OND/HND/B.Sc/M.Sc. in any discipline or
Matured candidates of 30 years of age and above with lower qualifications but with at least five years of working experience.
FEES:
Tuition fee is Sixty Thousand Naira (60,000.00) per session. Course
Materials fee is Ten thousand Naira(10,000.00). In addition,
Registration fee will be borne by students on resumption.
DURATION: Four Consecutive Semesters (Two (2) Sessions)
TIME: Saturdays only (9.00 am – 5.00 pm)
VENUE: RM B407 (Department of Geography, Faculty of Arts)

METHOD OF APPLICATION
GUIDELINES FOR FILLING THE APPLICATION FORM:
1. Visit the Human Resources Development Centre Portal ( hrdc.unilag.edu.ng ). Click on the “Application form”.
Click the pre-application form link;provide the required information and
click submit to obtain a Payment Reference Number (Voucher). You are
expected to print out the Payment Reference Number (voucher) and take to
the bank.
2. Make payment at any branch of the designated banks stated below:
WEMA BANK PLC , ECO BANK PLC, ACCESS BANK PLC, FIRST BANK PLC at the University of Lagos Branches only.
Applicants are expected to take the printed payment Reference
Number(voucher) to the bank for payment of N5,000.00 which is the cost
of Application Form.
After payment, return to the Human Resources Development Centre Portal
(hrdc.unilag.edu.ng) Click the Application link, then Application Form
Link, log in with Payment Reference Number as username and provide
surname in lowercase as password.
Click the Edit Application form link to fill the Application form and
upload digital passport (jpeg format) which should not be more than 15kb
in size and must be in white background. The acceptable dimension is:
width- 235 pixels or 35mm, height- 314 pixels or 40mm(Failure to comply
with specified image format may lead to disqualification).
Click “SUBMIT FORM” button after filling the form completely; else click
the “DECLINE” button. After submission, applicants are required to
print the completed Application Form for submission at the Human
Resources Development Centre Secretariat.
Submit the printed form along with two (2) sets of your Credentials.
Note
Kindly note that if payment is not made five (5) days after obtaining
Payment Reference Number (voucher), the pre-application access would be
DECLINED. Applicants will then be expected to refill the pre-application
form to obtain a New Payment Reference Number ( voucher).
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS AND COLLECTION OF ADMISSION LETTERS:
Completed Application forms should be printed and submitted at the Human
Resources Development Centre (HRDC) on or before October 12 th , 2012.
ADMISSION LETTERS for short-listed candidates are to be collected at the
Human Resources Development Centre (HRDC) Secretariat from 22 nd of
October, 2012.
Admission letters will not be posted to individual candidates. However,
the admission lists will be available on HRDC Portal
(hrdc.unilag.edu.ng).
