It was gathered that the suspect, who according to sources close to the family, has a psychological problem, abandoned her mother’s remains and ran away after carrying out his wicked act.
The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amaraizu confirmed the sad development.
He disclosed that investigations to unravel the mystery surrounding the sad development had commenced even as he stated that the suspect had been arrested.
“Operatives of the state criminal investigations of the Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force, have commenced a full scale investigation to unravel the mystery and circumstances surrounding the alleged stabbing to death of a woman by the son in the state.
“It was gathered that on that fateful day 2/10/14, around 5am, suspect identified as Uchechukwu Ugwuozor had allegedly gone to the bed where the mother also identified as Eunice Ugwuozor was lying down and stabbed her to death over a yet to be identified reason, abandoning the lifeless body of the mother and escaping to an unknown destination.
