Make impact on society, UACN boss urges pupils

The Chief Executive Officer of the UAC of Nigeria Plc, Mr. Larry Ettah, has urged pupils to strive early in life to make positive impact on society.

Ettah also enjoined them to endeavour to identify their vision and mission in life on time.

He gave the charge in Osun State during the 2014 graduation of the Olashore International School, Iloko-Ilesa, where 17-year-old Miss Olaosebikan Adunni emerged as the best graduating pupil. She excelled in nine subjects, including English, Mathematics and Further Mathematics.

Advising the graduating pupils, Ettah challenged them to continue to lead a life that would make “imprint on the sands of time.”

In a paper entitled “Into the Real World,” the UACN helmsman urged them to imbibe the values of integrity, courage, humility and hope.

He said, “I congratulate you on passing this phase of your lives successfully. Now you can catch your breath, reflect on the past few years, a most important phase in your life’s journey… and smile at the fact that this phase of your life is over; and you overcame in the end. That is the good news.

“The bad news is of course that after a few weeks and months of resting from the toil of the past six years, another phase of that journey, a tougher, more critical phase will commence. Life is a series of journeys, life is complicated and understanding that is important. From birth to strong foundations, to building your person, education and relationship, ultimately, the purpose is impact. What impact will you have made on society, the world, when your journey is over?”
