Insurgent members have reportedly opened fire on residents in a remote
area of Borno State, as they tried to flee into neighbouring Cameroon.
According
to an eyewitness account, scores of Boko Haram sect members riding in
armoured vehicles carried out the attack on Monday.
“They
have burnt the market, customs office, police station and almost every
shop in the town and killed many people but I can’t say how many” said
Musa Abba, a resident of Gamboru Ngala, a statement supported by several
others. “They have taken over the whole town”.
