JAMB 2014: Candidates Endorse CBT Mode of Examination

The JAMB CBT examination that commenced last Saturday has so far recorded success.

In one of the centres in Lagos it was gathered that biometric verification commenced as early as 7.am and took less than a minute to screen a candidate.

One of the officials who commented on the success of the exam said unlike last year they had problems like interruption of power supply and system failure, the challenges was adequately addressed this year.

The JAMB Assistant Director, Mrs Ebere Okeke, said after the exams on Saturday that the CBT process was as simple as using a mobile telephone and described the CBT mode as the solution to examination malpractices for JAMB.

A candidate who commented said, the examination was smooth and successful as the system functioned accurately.

Another candidate said the process was faster than other mode of examination.

“I was afraid when I sat in front of the computer because I do not have the experience.

“Now, that I have experienced it, is it easy and straight forward, all I do is read the question, click my answer and go to the next page,” she said.

Just as expected, candidates were automatically logged out by the system at the expiration of their time.

With this development and in light of JAMB going full blown CBT by 2015, obviously this mode of examination has come to stay.
