The medical students of Afe Babalola University have expressed gross dissatisfaction over the move by the management of the university to increase tuition fees of prospective Clinical students.
According to the students, the treatment they receive as medical students is below the standard obtainable in most of the medical schools across the country.
To add salt to injury the school management is on the move to increase the school fees of the prospective clinical students from N750, 000 to N1, 250,000.
This has been labeled by the students as ridiculous and an act of sadism.
In the light of the current economy and the cost of acquiring new textbooks, gadgets including stethoscopes and sphygmomanometer the students are appealing to the school management to reconsider this move on increasing the school fees payable by prospective clinical students.
“We perfectly understand that there should be an increment that should not
be forgotten as stated earlier but increment from N750,000 to N1,250,000 is too much.” The students asserted.
