RSUST Admissions Into Part-Time (Evening) Degree Programmes 2015/2016 Announced

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Part-Time (Evening) Degree Programmes of Rivers State University of Science & Technology for 2015/2016 academic session in the following programmes:

A. PART-TIME DEGREE PROGRAMMES FACULTY OF TECHNICAL AND SCIENCE EDUCATION B.Sc. Degree Programmes in:

(i) Adult and Community Education
(ii) Business Education with Options in:
(a) Accountancy
(b) Management
(c) Marketing
(d) Secretarial Education

(iii) Science Education with Options in:
(a) Agricultural Science
(b) Biology
(c) Chemistry
(d) Integrated Science

(iv) Technical Education with Options in:
(a) Building
(b) Electrical/Electronics
(c) Mechanical/Metal Work

B. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Holders of WASC, SSCE, NECO or GCE O/L with five (5) relevant credit level passes must include English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings and who must in addition, satisfy the departmental requirements are eligible to apply. Prospective candidates are also advised in their own interest to obtain information guide on departmental entry requirements from the Secretary, Centre for Continuing Education (CCE). Candidates with higher qualifications such as NCE (Credit Level Pass), OND/ND (Upper Credit Level Classification) or HND are eligible for Direct Entry Admissions or placement on Advanced Standing, provided that such candidates also satisfy general requirements for admission. Candidates below the age of 26years are not eligible to apply.

C. METHOD OF APPLICATION
Candidates are expected to apply On-line by logging onto www.ust.edu.ng and making non-refundable e-payment of Twenty-Two Thousand Five Hundred Naira (N22,500.00) only using Interswitch Verve enabled cards. This amount covers Seven Thousand Five Hundred Naira (N7,500.00) only for application form, Five Thousand Naira (N5,000.00) only for University screening test and Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) only for Jamb Regularization . It is mandatory that candidates should upload scanned copy of the following:
i. Academic qualification(s)
ii. Birth Certificate or Declaration of age
iii. Passport Photograph

D. SCREENING TEST
Candidates are to note that the mode of the screening test is ELECTRONIC. Candidates are therefore advised to practice the use of the computer especially the use of the Mouse and Keyboard before they turn up for the screening test. Candidates who are interested to use the computer service at the ICT Centre of RSUST for this purpose are advised to visit the Centre one week before the Screening Test for a free training on the use of Mouse and Keyboard


SCHEDULE FOR THE SCREENING EXERCISE
The screening exercise will take place from Monday 24th August, 2015 to Wednesday 26th August, 2015 at the Information Technology Centre (ITC) of the University.

Candidates are requested to please note that the screening exercise is as scheduled in the screening exercise slip they printed out after their On-line registration. The scheduled date, time and venue shall be indicated in the examination slip. Consideration will not be given to candidates who fail to appear for the screening exercise on the scheduled date and time.

All candidates for the screening exercise are required to come to the examination venue with their exam slip printed out during the On-line registration. Candidates should note that GSM phones WILL NOT BE ALLOWED into the Examination hall during the screening exercise. Parents, Guardians and Well-wishers are advised to stay away from the venue of the screening exercise Candidates must report at the examination venue one (1) hour before the scheduled exam time on their exam slip.

Further details about the screening exercise can be obtained on-line at www.ust.edu.ng. It is important to note that the names of successful candidates for admission shall be published on the same site (www.ust.edu.ng).
