#Throwback Picture: Nnamdi Azikwe Being Welcomed To UNILAG By Members Of The Pirates Confraternity

Members of the Pirates Confraternity, welcoming then Chancellor of UNILAG, Dr Azikiwe, into the Akoka campus, University of Lagos (UNILAG). The Confraternity members were donned in their full regalia, as they welcomed the then Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, back in 1972 after his appointment.

Dr Nnamdi Azikwe later turned out to be one of the leading figures of modern Nigerian nationalism. He was a former Head of State in Nigeria (1963 to 1966).
