The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho admitted a total of 5,281 undergraduate students into various faculties for the 2013/2014 session after about 10, 609 candidates applied for admissions into the institution.
This was made known by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adeniyi Gbadegesin during the matriculation ceremony of fresh students of the university last week.
The VC advised the new students to be committed to the oath they signed during the event, warning that any breach of the oath would not be tolerated.
He particularly warned against joining or participating in secret cult activities, stressing that the institution has zero tolerance for such while also urging the students to maintain personal hygiene, particularly hand washing in order to prevent the spread of the Ebola Virus Disease in the country.
Gbadegesin tasked the students to steer clear of negative political activities as the 2015 elections draw nearer, saying they should always remember that their primary assignment in the university is academic pursuit.
