About 10 per cent of the 125 pioneer graduates of the four-year-old Adeleke University, Ede, were awarded first class degrees last Sunday.
Eleven
of the students, from the faculties of Sciences, Arts, and Business and
Social Sciences, graduated with first class honors.
A student of the computer science department, Boluwatife Ruth Alabi, scored an impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.90 to emerge the best graduating student.
The
students received their degrees at an event attended by several
dignitaries including the Osun State Governor, Raul Aregbesola, former
Governor of Lagos state and present National Leader of the All
Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a former governor of
Osun state, Chief Bisi Akande, the Timi of Ede, Oba Adesola Lawal, a
former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Salihu Alfa Belgore and the Chancellor
of the university, Senator Isiaka Adeleke.
