Subsequent to the University of Ibadan
(UI) post-UTME screening, the vice chancellor, Prof Isaac Adewole, has
disclosed that the school would only 3,700 candidates out of 8,992 that
wrote the examination will be offered admission.
The VC who was speaking through the
Deputy-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Emilolorun Ayelari, said that five
candidates who scored highest scores will be given scholarship by the
university.
He named the candidates as: Adetunji
AbdulRaham (55328333ED, scored 86, Law); Amaji Obinna Charles
(55110959DE scored 86, Medicine and Surgery); Adebiyi Tijesunimi
(55361970BC, scored 85, Electrical and Electronics Engineering); Oke
Dorcas (55974720AJ, scored 83, Medicine and Surgery) and Olowosulu
Cassandra Olawum (56630251JB, scored 83, Medicine and Surgery).
Given a statistics of the candidates,
Adewole said that 23,200 candidates scored above 200 in UTME while
20,800 applied for the post UTME, of which only 19,268 took the
screening test.
The VC, however, warned members of the
public not to influence the institution’s admission officials for
admission into the University.
