These are full tuition fee waiver scholarships. Please note that this covers tuition fees only, not living expenses or accommodation.

DEADLINE

CRITERIA

Applicants must hold an offer for a full-time Masters degree at the University.

The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence, financial need and development case (if you are applying from a developing country).

BENEFITS

Full tuition fee scholarship will be awarded for an outstanding student to study a one year Masters programme at UWE.

The recipient of this scholarship will be required to undertake an internship working within the International Development Office and other departments, and will also be required to undertake ambassadorial activity for the University throughout the duration of the course.

DEADLINE

The deadline for submitting your application for the September 2016 intake is 31 March 2016; while that for the January 2017 intake is October 2016 (exact date yet to be advised).

CRITERIA

Eligible students must:

    Have achieved the equivalent of a British 1st in an undergraduate degree
    Hold an unconditional offer or a conditional offer where IELTS or equivalent English language is the only condition
    Be a new student to UWE Bristol with no previous UK study
    Be classed as overseas for fees purposes
    Not be a sponsored student or in receipt of another scholarship/award
    Provide official transcripts at the time of application

BENEFITS

For the academic year 2016-2017 the scholarship for the PhD course is equal to 15,012.00 euros including a lodging allowance. Students also have the right to free meals at the facilities of the Scuola Normale or at facilities with agreements with the SNS for the duration of the course, excluding the periods of academic holidays.

Successful candidates who are citizens of countries not belonging to the European Union will be reimbursed for the travelling expenses incurred for the start of the course to a maximum of 1,000.00 euros.

PhD students from countries not belonging to the European Union can request, within a year from the end of the course, reimbursement of expenses incurred for their return to their country of provenance, again up to a maximum of 1,000.00 euros. Those not completing the course because of forfeiture of the place can also apply for reimbursement providing at least a year has passed since the start of the course.

DEADLINE

Applications for admission to the selection process must be registered on-line by 23:59 CET of the following dates: 15 March 2016, for the spring session or 30 August 2016, for the autumn session.

The on-line procedure will be activated at the section dedicated to the call on the SNS web site at the address http://phd.sns.it/en/. For each session, all applications received and registered on line after the stipulated date and time will be rejected whatever the cause of delay.


CRITERIA

Applications for admission are invited from candidates who, irrespective of their citizenship, have an Italian laurea magistrale (MA/MS degree) or an equivalent degree from outside Italy, or who expect to have obtained the degree required for admission by October 31, 2016: failure to obtain the degree by this date will disqualify the candidate for admission.

Admission to the call is restricted to candidates who:

    were born after the 31st October 1986;
    have no past criminal charges against them resulting in a prison term of more than three years;
    have not been subject to the disciplinary measure of “expulsion” as specified in the didactic and internal regulations of the SNS;
    are not in possession of a research doctorate issued by an Italian university, and in any case have never benefited from a scholarship to attend a research doctorate course in Italy.

CRITERIA

The scholarships will be awarded to Tanzanian citizen who is normally resident in Tanzania, and who is accepted for admission on a full-time basis for a postgraduate Master's programme of study at the University of Edinburgh. Applicants who already hold a degree from outside Tanzania will not be considered.

Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.

CRITERIA

This contest is open to anyone who has an interest in both the United Nations University and the designated contest topic. There are no restrictions as to age, nationality, or profession.

REQUIREMENTS
Essays may be written in either English (3,000–6,000 words) or Japanese (8,000–16,000 characters). All essays should be printed on A4-size paper and include an abstract of up to 450 words (English) or 1,200 characters (Japanese).

Submissions must be original and unpublished papers, and must include reference notes and a bibliography if other authors’ works are cited.
