The management of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, with the approval of the institution's governing council, has expelled 112 students for various offences, which included impersonation, examination malpractices, admission fraud, theft, as well as using fake NECO/ WAEC results.
The students were duly sanctioned, after being tried before the Students Disciplinary Committee set up by the school management earlier this year for the various offences indicated against their names.
Addressing the media, the Registrar/ Secretary to the polytechnic council, Alhaji J.A. Akande, disclosed that of the 112 students, 19 were expelled for impersonation, 12 for examination malpractices while two were found guilty of admission fraud.

Also facing sanction were five other students being punished for theft charges. Another group of 74 students were sanctioned for gaining admission to the institution with fake results. Twenty seven are being held for using fake NECO results while the other 47 used fake WAEC results for processing their admission to the school.
He disclosed further that the institution would not tolerate any act of indiscipline or forms of malpractice among its students. He also warned any student who, in one way or the other, might be planning to practise such vices in the future.
