Steps

    1
Read a book. It can be anything you prefer, whether a science fiction novel or a romance novel. You've got a lot of time on your hands, so you might be able to finish a whole book in a day.
    2
Watch a movie, not just TV. There really isn't anything good on television in the late morning and early afternoon.
    3
Take a bubble bath. Hot water can have therapeutic qualities when you have aches and pains.
    4
Turn your couch into a really comfy space. Take one of the couch cushions, turn it sideways so it is being supported by the arm of the couch, and grab a bunch of pillows and blankets and arrange them in a way that is most comfortable. Get a small side table, or just push your coffee table closer to you, and put any essential things there.
        Tissues
        Medicine (Only if needed)
        Books
        Music Player/MP3/iPod
        Remote Control
    5
Hang out with someone that isn't afraid of being sick. Talk to people you like on the phone after school or any time on weekends or holidays.
    6
Be creative. Draw a picture, get out some paints, or any other artistic medium. Maybe you can even make abstract art about being sick!
    7
Listen to music. It can help distract you from your sickness. Turn on a happy, upbeat song to lift your spirits.
    8
Play an old video game that you haven't used in a while. They're entertaining and can sharpen your motor skills. They can also keep you awake.
    9
Go on the internet. There are tons of things to do. Go to Youtube, campusflava, Myspace, Facebook, Twitter or read a funny blog.
    10
If you have enough strength, clean your room. Open some windows, turn on that upbeat music and straighten things up.
    11
Paint your nails. Take out the crazy colors you'd never wear outside your house and paint each nail a different color. Add sparkles, too. This can help distract you from the fact that you are sick.
    12
Eat snacks that are easy on the digestive system. The classic saltines and Ginger Ale are great, but you can also go for other things like Triscuits, dry cereal with frosted sugar, and fruit. Drink some juice, too. When your stomach can hold down more food, try some spaghetti with melted butter. Make sure to stay hydrated, too. Stock up on ice-cold water bottles.
    13
Communicate. Talk to people you haven't seen in a while on the phone, text your friends (just not while their in school) and IM or Skype family who lives far away. Catch up on responding to all the emails in your overflowing inbox. Just stay in contact with everyone so you don't get lonely!
    14
Don't just lie in bed all day! If you feel like it, and if the weather is nice, go read your book on the front porch. Fresh air will be good for you.
    15
Look at old pictures. Break out the photo albums from when your were little. Maybe even make a scrapbook.

Tips

If you're a kid, don't take medicine without adult supervision.
Don't avoid taking medicine. Without it, it'll probably take you weeks to get better.
If you have a fever, tie your hair up out of your face and put a wet towel over your forehead.
Don't tie your hair up if you have a headache. This will make it worse.
Try to take some Honey instead of medicine for the common cold or another minor virus.
Stay in the bathroom, if necessary.
Go on to your school's website to see what homework you missed.
