    Ask your parents where the family is from. It may help you find out what language you speak so you know what language they speak.

    Look in old documents. Before you approach your relative, make sure you know enough about them. Make sure not to get caught.

    Look in old photo albums. See if you can find a picture of them so you get used to the way they look.
