How to Mount Thermal Fuses on Appliances

This article will help you replace a thermal fuse in your appliance.

 Steps

    1
Don't knock or squeeze the body of thermal cutoff while mounting. Even minor deformations can cause the moving electrode inside to jam and fail to cause thermal cutoff when required for your appliance.
    2
After mounting, there should be little or no tension on the thermal cutoff leads, as the pressure could jam the moving electrode, and thus cause the thermal cutoff to not function correctly.
    3
Point weld the cutoff's leads to connecting wires. To avoid overheating the cutoff keep welding time under 2 minutes for thermal cutoff less than TF 200 Celsius and under 3 minutes for thermal cutoff greater than TF 300 Celsius. Let each lead's weld cool completely before welding the other so the high-temperature part of leadwire will not cause thermal cutoff to remain open.
    4
Mount the cutoff near the most temperature-sensitive part of the appliance for optimal protection.
    5
The thermal pellet of your cutoff is located between the body and lower leadwire which is the most sensitive area of the component. If your test the thermal cutoff, read temperature from this location so your measurement is as accurate as possible.

Warnings

Select the appropriate Thermal Cutoff for your electric appliances carefully, especially in the performance of Holding temperature(TC℃) and Functioning temperature(TF℃). The performance of Holding temperature will determine the durability of electric appliances directly. The bad performance of Functioning temperature will make electric appliances lose the reliable security protection.
