 Steps
  1. 1
First ensure that the PC is not on. If it is, switch it off, unplug it and let it cool for sometime if it has been running for a while.

  2. 2
Look at the back of the PC. You will see some screws (usually 2, one near the top and one further below) Use a Philips screwdriver to undo the screws.

  3. 3
Slide out the side panel. If a fan is attached be careful of the wires.

  4. 4
Now lay the CPU on the side which is closed. You can see the interiors quite clearly.

  5. 5
Do not let the wires confuse you. Just don't touch anything yet.

  6. 6
Make sure you are grounded or use an anti static wrist band.
  7. 7
Now do what you want...clean the insides with a vacuum... the small portable variety...the large house vacuum may suck up all the delicate parts of the motherboard and other paraphernalia so be careful

  8. 8
Use the blower carefully and blow out the dust and the cobwebs and accumulated dirt
  9. 9
Clean the fans especially carefully. This is where most of the dust accumulated
  10. 10
Close the lid and put the screws back in place.

Warnings
  • Remember to protect your computer from static electricity by using a anti-static wrist strap or touching a metal surface.
