EBSU Second Semester 2013/2014 Registration Timetable Released

The authorities of Ebonyi State University (EBSU), Abakiliki has released the student’s online registration schedule and procedure for second semester 2013/2014 Academic Session.

Students are to note the closing date as the portal will not be opened after the closing.

REGISTRATION TIMETABLE

1) 4th August to 1st September, 2014 –   NORMAL REGISTRATION
2) 2nd September to 9th September –      REGISTRATION WITH PENALTY
3) 9th September –                                   COURSE REGISTRATION PORTAL CLOSES DOWN.

All staff and students are expected to adhere strictly to these timelines, staff are also required to advice their students to do the registration by themselves instead of doing it through second parties or course Reps.

The steps for the online/manual course registration in the second semester is as follows:

Step 1: With the electronic receipt and e-tranzact pin obtained in the first semester, student approaches the HOD ,and is given the course registration form.

Step2: Student fills the forms with the guidance of the Academic Adviser, gets the endorsement of his/her Academic Adviser and approval of HOD for the courses to be registered.

Step 3: With the courses approved in the manual registration form, student goes to a cyber café or uses his/her smart phone. Log in to the University website and carry on his/her online course registration.

Step 4: On completion, student prints out the course registration acknowledgment receipt (with not-approved status), attaches it to the manual registration form, and returns them to his academic adviser/HOD. (Student must retain photocopy of these documents).

Step 5: The HOD/Academic adviser will check whether or not the student has registered for the approved courses in earlier retained copy of the manual registration form. List of students who have registered the approved courses online will be compiled and submitted to the Result Database office before the close of registration portal.

Students who have not registered the correct courses should be advised by the academic adviser/HOD to go back to the net to add or drop the course(s) as the case may be.

Students are free to edit their registered courses (ie. add or drop), any number of times, as long as the registration portal is open. Adding and Dropping of courses stops with the closure of the registration portal (ie. at the end of registration exercise).

It is important to note by all that once the registration portal is shutdown, student can no longer register for his/her courses that semester.

It will be the duty of the Department to advise students who have not registered at the close of the site to apply to the Registrar, through the HOD and Dean of Faculty, for voluntary leave of absence for the semester , and reactivate his studentship the next semester through the same process.
