South-South groups canvass Jonathan’s re-election

The Bayelsa Development Forum scored President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration high for providing good governance for Nigerians.

BYF said that Jonathan, in spite of the security challenges confronting the country, stood out as a great manager of the economy.

The group, therefore, called on the President to seek re-election in 2015.

The group believes that re-electing Jonathan will enable him to complete the ongoing projects he had embarked upon.

The group, led by Mr. Thompson Okorotie, said during the week that Jonathan’s administration had recorded successes in various sectors of national life, especially in electricity, agriculture, rail transportation and housing, among others.

Okorotie said, “We, therefore, call on the President to seek Nigerians’ mandate for second term so as to complete the ongoing projects.”

The spokesperson for Ijaw Youth Congress Worldwide, Mr. Eric Omare, said the IYC supports Jonathan’s administration.

He said the President had not lost focus in stabilising the nation’s economy.

According to him, Jonathan’s achievements surpass those of his predecessors.

“South-South youths are committed to Jonathan’s re-election in 2015; the youths are already mobilising support for the President,” he added.
