Lagos Business School

History

The Lagos Business School (LBS) started in 1991 as a small institution called the Centre for Professional Communications (CPC) and offered management courses relevant to the Nigerian business environment. The school was previously owned by the African Development Foundation (ADF), a Nigerian not-for-profit educational foundation, but is now owned by the Pan-African University Foundation. In 1996, LBS began a joint Executive MBA with IESE Business School, Barcelona while it applied for a license to operate as a private university with a view to begin offering an MBA programme. In January 2002, the Federal Government granted approval for the establishment of Pan-African University, and Lagos Business School thus became the first school of the Pan-African University able to offer its own Executive MBA programme. The full-time MBA programme was added in 2003 to develop younger professionals as functional managers with global perspectives and practical management knowledge relevant to the Nigerian business environment. A doctoral programme started in 2006 in response to the School’s need for more research work to support the practice of management in Nigeria.
The Lagos Business School is ranked among the best business schools in the world.  http://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolrankings/executive-education-open-2012
