The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) Kogi state University
chapter(KSU) has called off its seven-week-old strike that paralysed
academic activities in the institution .
The union embarked
on an indefinite strike in March to demand better welfare for the
university’s lecturers amongst other demands.
According to a
member of the Union, after the meeting held by ASUU on April 21, it was
resolved in principle to suspend the strike action.

also gathered that the Student Union Government (SUG) had given the
lecturer 48-hour ultimatum to suspended the strike or face the
consequence.
Showing appreciation to the management of the
institution, Comrade Victory Anselm, SUG spokesman hailed the vice
chancellor, Prof. Hassan Isah for his response to the resolve the
strike.
Meanwhile, the school management has released an adjusted academic calendar and lectures resume on Monday, 27th April, 2015.
