The Kogi state University chapter of Academic staff Union of
Universities (ASUU), has agreed to call to a halt the strike action it
embarked on that has lasted for 2 months.
It was learnt that the suspension followed the intervention of the
Students Union Government. The Union gave the lecturers 48 hours
Ultimatum
Speaking,Comrade Victory Anselm, SUG spokesman appreciated the
management of the institution for responding to the students demand for
the resolve of the strike.
The strike was reportedly embarked upon following a demand for the state
government to reach an agreement with the union in 2009.
Meanwhile, the school management has released an adjusted academic
calendar and lectures are expected to resume on Monday, 27th April,
2015.
