The Osun State University recently matriculated 2,315 students for the 2014/2015 academic session.
While
advising the students during the ceremony the Acting Vice Chancellor of
the University, Professor Oguntola Jelil Alamu told the students that
there’s a huge gap between matriculation and graduation and to ensure
that they graduate from the university they need to put in the needed
effort.
In his words, “You have to make great sacrifices in time
and efforts. There is no shortcut to success; hard work is a
prerequisite. God can only bless the efforts you put in, please strive
hard to maintain your studentship”
“You must adhere to the words
of the Matriculation Oath which you have taken as well as abide by the
Code of Conduct of Dressing. Violation of any would be met with the
appropriate sanction.” He said.
The delighted Prof. also informed
the students, their parents as well as guardians present at the
occasion that the University has enshrined in its laws a
non-discriminatory policy in its various activities and will continue as
an institution to implement the policy.
“This policy
notwithstanding, the Authorities of the university is poised to ensure
that the high quality and standards of delivery which the University is
already reputed for would not be compromised. We will continue to strive
for the high standards in our teaching, learning and other activities
of the institution.”
