NYSC Taraba State Posts All Corps Members To Rural Communities For Primary Assignment

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) yesterday said over 90% of corps members deployed to Taraba State were posted to serve in rural communities as classroom teachers.

This was made known by the state's NYSC Coordinator Freeman Tumba, during the closing ceremony of the 2015 Batch ‘A’ orientation course.

According to him, this is to ensure that the corps members contribute meaningfully to the educational development of the state during their service year.

He emphasizes, that NYSC discourages posting corps members to ministries, banks and parastatals on grounds that those posted to such places are often left redundant throughout their service year.

He urged the corps members to be mindful of the culture of people in their host communities and always dress decently.

The Acting governor of the state, Sani Abubakar Danladi, assured the corps members of adequate protection and security and advised them to explore the socio-economic potentials in the state to add value to their lives.
