The maxim “Cleanliness is next to Godliness” recently came to the fore when the Student Affairs Unit of the University, in Conjunction with the Student’s Union of the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun embarked on a monthly Environmental Exercise of the University.
Addressing the staff and students that partook in the exercise, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Olusanya advised students against indiscriminate dumping of waste on campus with empty water sachet, empty plastic bottles and other waste materials.
He also warned against arbitrary pasting of posters on the University walls, he therefore,solicited the support of the student populace in making the university a reference point for serene environment.
While flagging off the exercise, the Dean Student Affairs, Dr. AbosedeEwumi disclosed that the exercise is to inculcate the habit of good cleanliness among students who are future teacher and the entire University community. She, however assured that the flag-off which was the maiden exercise will henceforth be taking place every 2nd Thursday of the month and this would involve shops owners within the campus.
The President Students’ Union of the Institution, Comrade MakanjuolaWasiu charged his fellow students to support the Management in its effort to make TASUED Environment friendly. He said the students’ Union partnership with the management was in line with the mission of his team tagged: “Rehabilitation” which was laying of good foundation for the future students.
