Two first year students of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), Eket drowned in a lake on Saturday while on picnic just few days before their matriculation.
The students, Ibiye Duke Nicholas Silas (Department of Marine Engineering) and one Daniel (Department of Civil Engineering) met their untimely end in a lake along Uyo/Ikot Abasi road.
Reports has it that both deseased went into the lake with their fellow students but failed to resurface after sometime.
The students who raised an alarm went into a search with the University’s Medical team to recover their bodies.
This sad news makes it the 6th death of Akwa Ibom State University Undergraduates within two months of this semester.
We pray the souls of Daniel and Silas to Rest In Peace… Amen!
