The entire Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State has been thrown
into a mourning mood following the death of a student and one other
person that lost their lives while trying to fetch water from a well in
Igbawere Village, Offa, at the weekend.
It was gathered that one
of the deceased, an ND-1 student of Business Management of the
polytechnic, Akorede Sodeeq, was trying to fetch water from the well
when he fell into it. An indigene of the village, who jumped tried to
rescue the student, lost his life in the process.
Some of the deceased’s colleagues described the student as a gentleman with a lot of drive and will power.
The
incident, which happened in Federal Polytechnic, Offa permanent site,
attracted sympathisers some of them attributing the tragedy to a
spiritual force.
