Students Protest over Colleagues death-FUPRE closes Indefinitely

The management of Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE) has ordered students of the institution to vacate her hostels with immediate effect. This is coming after Friday’s violent students protest over the death of their colleague at the hands of unknown gunmen.

The deceased, Jimoh Lateef Babatunde, a 400 level Computer Science student was said to have been shot dead around 8PM on thursday near the Fupre boys hostel in Ugbomro by suspected armed robbers.



Academic activities at the university were on Friday grounded by angry students who shut the school gates following the death of Lateef Babatunde.

The school authorities has today announced the postponement of the second semester 2013/2014 academic session resumption initially slated for Monday August 11,2014.
The management also directs students presently on campus to immediately vacate the hostels until further notice.
