EKSU Students Protest N10,000 Late Registration Fee

The aggrieved students accuse the school management of illegal extortion

we gathered that the students locked the school gates for over hours and stopped vehicles from entering or going out of the school premises.

The protest was in reaction to the alleged introduction of N10,000 penalty for late registration charges by the school authorities. According to our correspondent, students who register one week after the registration deadline were first charge N5,000 which the students accepted.

Trouble broke out when the management of the institution announced a 100 per cent increased to the late registration fee from N5,000 to N10,000.

The students, who called on the authorities to reverse the move, threatened to continue the protest if the management fail to rescind their decision.
