How to Maintain the Excitation Motor of Shale Shaker

The Excitation Motor is the most important part of shale shaker, so the Nursing and Maintenance of the Excitation Motor is also the main task of keeping long life of shale shaker

Steps

    1
Clean off the dust. The dust on the casing should be cleaned periodically.
    2
Be sure that the fix bolts are secure. Before operation, the fix bolts of the motor should be checked to see if they are loosened. If so, they should be fixed tightly before use.
    3
Check to see if the service cable is rubbed, buried or squeezed.
    4
Lubricate the motors. A good lubrication of the motors should be ensured during their operation. An appropriate amount of high temperature lubricating grease LGHP2 by SKF was injected for the bearing before its assemblage, with it’s working temperature between -40~200°C.
No less than 25.8g lubricating grease LGHP2 should be injected into each bearing for every 2000 hours.
When it is found that temperature of the bearing is 10℃ higher than its average daily temperature (meaning that the so-called risen temperature is that measured at the bearing location of motor casing on-the-spot subtracts from the outside environmental temperature) in 2000hours, it shows that the bearing is lacking of lubrication, the lubricating period and the amount should be both reduced. In principle, the total amount of the lubricating grease injected in 2000 hours should not exceed 25.8g. For example, when the lubricating period is reduced to half of the normal period (1000 hours), the amount of the lubricating grease should not exceed 12.9g. Usually, when the temperature raises every 10℃, the period and the amount should be reduced to its half at the same time.
    5
Use the right kind of grease. To ensure the normal operation of bearing, high temperature lubricating grease of LGHP2 brand should be adopted. Lubricating holes should be cleaned before adding new oil.
Usually the temperature of the bearing will rise for one or two days after lubrication.
    6
Seal the lubricating holes. The lubricating holes should be sealed to prevent dust from entering into the bearing and damaging it.
    7
Run an insulating test on the coil of the motor. The insulating test should be done to the coil of the motor after a long period of halting. It will not be operating until the resistance is less than 0.5 MSZ when testing with 500V megohmmeter.

 Tips

The power supply should be cut off immediately when the motor is found not running with power supply connected to avoid damaging the motor.
.Observe the motor to see if there are anything abnormal happened, such as intermittent or strange noise. If two motors are not running synchronically, it should be stopped immediately and restart after the problem has been solved.
Under cold state, the motor continuously starting should not be more than 5 times generally. And under thermal state, if the motor is started over again, it cannot be exceeds 3times.
