Chalmers University Sweden IPOET Scholarships for International Students

The IPOET (International Programme Office for Education and Training) Scholarships are 75% tuition fee waivers funded by the Government of Sweden.

They are funded by the Swedish Council for Higher Education, but are administered and awarded by Chalmers University of Technology (or simply, Chalmers) to prospective fee-paying students.

For the academic year 2015, Chalmers will award about 50 of these scholarships to eligible applicants.

CRITERIA

The scholarships are available to:

Citizens from non-EU/EEA countries who are required to pay tuition fees for Swedish university education, and

First year Master's Programme applicants

The selection is based on the applicants' relative academic excellence, which primarily includes weighted average grade but also home university´s stature (including position on global ranking lists) and priority order of the application for Chalmers Master´s programmes.

Citizens of all countries are eligible (EXCEPT the European Union/EEA countries)

The scholarship is NOT restricted to any particular course of study. All of the current Master’s Programmes at Chalmers starting in 2015 are eligible.

HOW TO APPLY

You are required to fill in the online scholarship application form. However, it is obligatory to submit an application for Chalmers' Master's Programmes at University Admissions prior to making a scholarship application.

It is only after you successfully submit an application for a masters programme that you will be able to obtain your individual application number, which must be entered correctly in the scholarship application portal in order for the Scholarship Committee to obtain information about what Master's Programmes you have applied to at Chalmers, etc.

A personal link to the scholarship application portal will be sent to you via email once you have submitted some key information as requested on the official website (link to it is below).

If you do not have all necessary information at hand to complete all steps of the electronic application form, your scholarship application will not be considered. Thus, it is important to visit the official website (link to it is below) for complete information on how to apply.

DEADLINE

Scholarships administered by Chalmers for Master's Studies starting Autumn 2015 will have an application deadline of 15 January 2015. So, all applications for the IPOET Scholarships MUST be received on or before 15 January 2015.

PLEASE NOTE:
In summary, the IPOET scholarship is awarded primarily based on academic merits, with an emphasis on academic excellence.

These scholarships do not cover living expenses in Sweden. They are awarded as a tuition fee reduction, covering 75% of the tuition fee. No grants are transferred to the scholarship laureates as monetary funds.

Students awarded the scholarship still need to prove to the Swedish Migration Board that they are able to provide sufficient funds to cover the remaining tuition fee and living expenses during the whole period of study, in order to be granted a Resident permit for academic studies in Sweden. For more information, visit the Swedish Migration Board.

At Chalmers University of Technology, many scholarship possibilities exist for both prospective and current students.
