Sokoto State University over the weekend matriculated 1,002 students admitted for the 2014/2015 academic session.
During
the event the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Nuhu Yaqub
reveled that the institution received over N2.09 billion from the
Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) in the last seven months.
According
to him, the fund would be used to provide two lecture theatres, begin
the building of the Faculty of Science and provide Internet facilities,
among others.
The vice chancellor warned the students against going contrary to the rules and regulations of the institution.
He
added: ‘’We will never compromise our standard of discipline and
academic excellence. Any contravention by the workers and students will
be sanctioned.’’
He urged the students to reciprocate the
huge expenditure of the government and their parents by being dedicated
to their studies and shunning vices.
