How to Deal With Not Getting Attention From Your Parents

You may feel a bit left out from your parents' conversations, and just want attention in general! Here's how to deal with it.

 Steps

    1
Understand how your parents' lives are busy. A lot of parents are busy with their lives, and may not be able to give everyone attention. If you feel a bit neglected, feel free to sit them down and tell them why, and see if you can work out a solution.
    2
Realize how your life may be busier than you think. Sometimes you can feel alone, and like your parents don't care, when you have spare time. They may want to spend time with you, you are just really busy.
Make time to spend with your parents, and go out and do something together.
    3
If you feel neglected for love, ask them if you can talk with them and tell them why you think you aren't getting enough attention. They're your parents and they should be open to you, and okay to spend time with you.
If you feel like your parents are playing favorites with another sibling, tell them how you feel. They may not notice if they're neglecting you. Tell them the truth, and try to figure something out.
    4
Try to resolve the issue. As said in other steps, sit down with your parents and tell them why you feel neglected, unloved, or don't get enough attention.

Tips

Try to catch your parents when they're in a good mood, and aren't too busy/stressed.
Be calm when talking to your parents. They may see you're a bit concerned and that's not good for either of you.

Warnings

Parents are busy and may not always be open to listen. Approach the situation calmly and if you can, make it a short conversation.
