The Vice Chancellor of Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Prof.
Abdullahi Zuru, during the matriculation ceremony of 2014/2015 admitted
students revealed that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has
abolished the pass degree in all Nigerian universities with effect from
the 2013/2014 academic session.
According to him, this implies
that the minimum pass mark for courses in the universities will now be
45 per cent, that is, D-grade instead of the previous 40 per cent which
was E-grade while the minimum class of grade to be earned by the
students will be now be Third Class,”
He, therefore, enjoined the students to work hard to earn their stay in the university.
