How to Be an Organized Artist

Being organized can be hard but being all over the place is easy! These advice will tell you how easy it is to be organized, EVEN as an Artist. Being artistic is messy and fun, but lets make it simple and become an  organized buzzer. Here you will learn where and how to put all your things in the right spot, make sure everything is there when you need it and make it neat and tidy so at the end of an artistic night you can just clear off just splodges of paint off the floor!

 Steps

  1. 1
Find some clear cupboards or drawers to put things in. These cupboards should be of a strong material such as wood so that heavy things do not break it, but cheap enough that paint wont ruin the finish if spilled.

  2. 2
Group art supplies such as brushes and paint bottles in boxes which can fit in easily. But make sure to be careful when organizing with plastic bins - too many will clutter up the room.

  3. 3
Arrange color bottles in an order. For example keep shades of blue together in an order of light to dark. It would also help to group the bottles by type. For example have Acrylics in one group, watercolors in another.

  4. 4
Take all the things you need and put it where you can reach it easily (make sure it's still in its place).

  5. 5
It's a good idea to clean out your supplies once a month to get rid of any dried up or broken supplies. (You could even sell your unused tools!)

Tips
  • Don't forget to keep your things in the right order again.
  • Try to clean up supplies from one project before moving on to the next.
  • Make sure to be careful about how much paint and supplies you own. Though more is sometimes better, most of the time it makes it harder to find the colors and tools you need!
  • You can be organized with creations too! You can plan them out step by step to make sure you only get the tools you need.
