How to Make a Mini Impeller

Simple mini impeller. Materials and tools needed: scissors, pen, glue and a plastic card. I created this article to help people make a mini impeller for useful projects such as a mini water pump.

Steps
  1. 1
Hold the plastic card horizontal and cut four equal size pieces.

  2. 2
Fold each piece in half than bend into an L shape

  3. 3
Get your pen and remove the pen head and ink tube.

  4. 4
Cut a small piece of the ink tube end slightly long than the L shape piece of the plastic card

  5. 5
Take two plastic L piece shapes and glue them together to form a T shape

  6. 6
Repeat step #5 with the other two pieces so you have two T shaped plastic pieces.

  7. 7
Take the plastic tube piece from the pen and glue it to the top center of one of the T shaped plastic pieces

  8. 8
Take the reminding T shape plastic piece and glue it to the top of the first piece having the pen tube in the middle of both. Should look like a cross with a tube in the middle.

 Tips
  • The pen piece you will cut off doesn't contain ink on it and will enable you to attach the impeller to a small motor. Because of the plastic pen piece in the middle of both T shaped plastic pieces will not align exactly but it will not affect the effectiveness of the impeller. For a better fit, all pieces should be glued at the same time and pressed together until they hold together nicely and let completely dry before use.
