How to Make a Lip Balm/Gloss Container from a Pop Bottle Cap

Let's face it. Many of us have the materials to make our own lip gloss or lip balm, but some of us simply don't have a container to put the lip balm or gloss in. Either you lost a container, or just don't own one, read on to make an adorable lip balm/gloss container from a pop bottle cap.

 Steps
  1. 1
Clean out your empty pop bottle. Make sure there is no soda left in the bottle. There's nothing worse than having flat soda mix with your lip balm/gloss.
  2. 2
Cut out off the top of the pop where it tapers into the cap. This will make the next step a lot easier.
  3. 3
Cut the pop bottle top until you reach the hard plastic and cannot cut anymore. Then go around the cap with your scissors so you have only the top of the bottle.
  4. 4
Get a small piece of clear plastic and, using the super glue, glue the cap onto the piece of plastic.
  5. 5
Get a heavy object (a great example of this would be a bowl) and place it on top of the bottle cap. Wait for the cap to dry onto the piece of plastic.
  6. 6
After about 15 minutes, come back to your container and remove the heavy object. Cut around the bottle cap until you have the bottom piece..
  7. 7
Use dishwashing soap (NOT what you use in the dishwasher!) to disinfect the container in case super glue got inside bottle cap.
  8. 8
Put lip balm/gloss in the container, and finished.
Tips
  • This can also be done with water bottles,, milk jugs, anything with a capital!
  • Always remember to put the lip balm/gloss in the fridge or freezer for half an hour once it has been put in the container, the cold air will harden your lip balm/gloss, so it's not mushy.
  • The plastic around the cap is very tough to cut, so use sharp scissors.

Warnings
  • Be careful when handling scissors and super glue.
  • Always wash your hands after doing this.

 Things You'll Need
  • Super glue
  • Sharp scissors
  • Pop bottle
  • Dish soap
